At Chef Boy Logro’s Restaurant

We have a new breed of Rockstars these days – a Culinary Sage! Chef Pablo “Boy” Logro arguably tops the bill of our local culinarians. Aside from being a dedicated husband and father, he also has his own TV shows and heads his own culinary school. So one would fairly assume that he’s tied up with all these commitments, right – better think again! It won’t come as a surprise that being a restaurateur would add to his repertoire.

Chef Boy Logro’s Restaurant in Imus, Cavite opened last June (Lydia’s Lechon previously occupied the space)

Ofcourse we’ll have a Kodak moment with Chef Boy!
Hmmm… I wonder why he looked so pale!?!

Photo Op with Chef Boy

My Dad was so animated when he was telling me how superb their Crispy Pata was – I felt my canine getting tingly! So when we crashed Chef Boy’s resto this weekend, I made sure my craving was satisfied. Part of our hitlist was their specialty, Kare-Kare with Mangga and Bagoong (Shrimp Paste).

On the table:

Ping! Ping! Ping!

Fresh Lemon Juice according to the waiter 🙂

I can agree with my Dad’s not-so-expert verdict but I wasn’t too happy with their Kare-Kare. Considering that it was one of their “best sellers”, I would honestly say that  my untamed palate was no closer to being a giddy muncher.

There’s a Function Room

The staff were very accommodating and attended to our needs right away. Unfortunately, the ambiance felt out of place. It gave an impression that the entire place was somehow “forced”, not giving too much attention to details. Given Chef Boy’s experience and exposure, it was only fair to expect more.

To be fair, we may not have tried enough dishes to give a credible rating, but with the “affordability” being a factor, I’m actually glad we didn’t. Would I give his place a chance to redeem itself – definitely! I’ll also make sure to try out other dishes but I dont think that’s anytime soon.

My ratings:

Food: fair
Price:  unfair 😀
Ambiance: poor
Overall: 2 out of 5

The TV at the corner shows videos of Chef Boy while cooking…

How to get there:

From Manila: Take Coastal Road and follow the sign that will lead you to Gen. Aguinaldo Highway. After Robinson’s Imus and before SM Hypermart, you will  see Chef Boy Logro’s Restaurant at your left.
